Some Casino Myths that You Should Stop Believing In

Gambling
22 Oct, 2019

People believe what they are told; at least for most of us. Not a lot of people go to live casinos and there certainly aren’t a lot of people engaging in online gambling of any kind.

That being said, a lot of gambling rumors have sprung up just because of this reason (although there are some that people believe in due to other reasons as well).

Today, I am going to talk about some casino myths that you should stop believing in.

All Casino Games Are Fixed

If this myth is true that all gambling institutions have their games rigged by default, then no one would play casino games anymore.
Although it is true that the house always has an advantage over the player; this doesn’t mean that you can never win any casino games.
In fact, when you have devised a pretty good strategy and with some luck, you can most certainly win in some games.

And, the fact that most modern casino games make use of a random number generator, this ensures that most casino games that you know and love are dictated completely at random and are by no means pre-programmed or anything like that.

A Game that Hasn’t Paid Out in a While Will Give You a Bigger Chance of Winning

In games such as roulette and the slot machine where there is potential that no player can win in a particular game or set, people believe that when they do not hand payouts (meaning that no one has won in a long while) that the odds of them winning big is huge.

Again, this goes back to the random number generator. The slot machines, for example, have no way of telling how many hours it hasn’t paid out or how many losing games were played. It is only concerned about handing you some potential winning slots or some potential losing slots and that’s it.

Believing that a big payout is inevitable is known as gambler’s fallacy.

Card Counting is Considered Illegal

Card counting has become quite an invaluable tool for some and it is just the process of using Math to help predict the cards that are going to come out, given a hand.

This is by no means illegal. Sure, there are some casinos where the managers would escort you outside the institution but they will not be able to press charges simply because card counting is not illegal by a court of law.

Your Chances of Winning Are High in a Busy Casino

Sure, a lot of people could potentially win it big in busier casinos as opposed to the quieter ones but that is only because a lot of people are playing in such institutions. Your chances of winning are still the same whether you are playing in a busy casino or not.

Under-Aged Gamblers Are Bred Through Online Gambling

There are a lot of online casinos that were established recently and the concern that this will breed more under-aged gamblers is just a myth.

It is easy for people who have not engaged in online gambling to think that online casinos do breed under-aged gamblers but that is just not true.

That is because online casinos have stringent age verification measures to ensure that no person not of legal age will be able to conduct gambling activities online.
